Omari M’$ aka Omari Murad is a rapper from Queens, NY. Though he had already been a longtime music fan, he decided to start taking music seriously around 2018. Then in 2020, Omari M’$ started to give his all to his music, using it as a way to express himself. After dealing with the loss of his father, he began to open up more in his music, which helped him to find himself. Today, Omari M’$ describes his sound as “ luxury meets down to earth.” He says he “pick[s] beats that are almost cinematic and reminiscent of the early 2000s because that's where a lot of [his] influences come from.” He makes a conscious effort to make sure his music is relatable and says that put simply, as a rapper, he is “like if Rick Ross and Wale had a baby and Cam'Ron was the babysitter.” Along with those three, Omari M’$ also lists Wiz Khalifa as one of his biggest influences.
Omari M’$ released his first project, Quentin Quarantino in 2020, highlighted by the opening track, “Queen.” He would then continue to release projects annually, returning with Life of a Don Vol. 1.5 in 2021 and Flourish in 2022. From Flourish, “Love Not Lust” featuring Evan J & Kdhott stands out as a high point. Outside of these projects, be sure to also check out “Champagne & Calamari” featuring DineroSantana.
