Free Party, coming from Largo, MD is the next great hip-hop duo. Great hip-hop duos are rare, but when one emerges, they’re sure to have a lasting impact. Think of what legendary duos like OutKast, Mobb Deep, UGK, Clipse, and 8Ball & MJG influence on contemporary hip-hop. Or even the splashes made by more recent duos like Rae Sremmurd, EARTHGANG, and City Girls. Free Party, comprised of MoCo and Jay Veno were greatly inspired by OutKast, but also list Kanye West, Lauryn Hill, and Kendrick Lamar as major influences.

MoCo and Jay Veno of Free Party started rapping in high school, primarily freestyling over Lil Wayne instrumentals. The two are even considering making their own No Ceilings tape for fun. Over the last few years, the duo has honed in on their craft, perfecting their pens and studying music as fans in order to create the best possible music themselves. When asked to describe their sound, Free Party says, “This shit like some melodic backpack with a new modern spin, but at the same time feels nostalgic.”

Free Party released their first full-length project, Grey in 2019, highlighted by the opening track, “Limbo” as well as the final two tracks, “A Mumble Joint” and “Alady.” Taking 2020 off, Free Party returned in 2021 with two projects, Mirrors in a Dark Room and PG Baby - EP, with standout tracks, “Middle School,” “Helly’s & Foams,” and “Favorite Jeans.” In 2022, they released the single “Wimbledon,” which we hope will be the lead single to an up-and-coming project, set to arrive “sooner than you think” and as they note, “it’s very crazy.” In October 2022, Free Party is set to hit the road with Tre’Amani, Alex Mali, and Van Buren Records as part of the Colture Presents Tour.
