NURD aka NEOSOULNURD fka LA Nurd aka Morgan Cole is a singer and songwriter inspired by legends like Nina Simone, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Miles Davis. She also draws inspiration from contemporaries like SZA, Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, Tierra Whack, and Dom Kennedy, as well as non-musical sounds like the rhythm of a heartbeat and sounds of nature. NURD hails from Leimert Park, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, CA.
Though having an interest in music her whole life, NURD began singing at the age of 3 and realized her gift of writing music in middle school while taking a music production course with her best friend and producer, Kruel Beats. As of 2021, NURD has one full project on all streaming services, Since I’ve Been Gone, and one mixtape exclusively on SoundCloud, Healing. Throughout her entire discography, standout tracks include “Moment,” “Hideaway” featuring Original Virtuoso, and “Manifesto.”
