Jiles is a rapper from Brockton, MA, and a cofounder of the collective, Van Buren Records. Growing up in a household with siblings regularly playing rap music, Jiles has been around music and hip-hop his whole life. Drawing inspiration from artists like Curren$y and Mozzy, he started rapping in 2018. He says that Mozzy is one of the main reasons he decided to start rapping seriously. He also says that Kendrick Lamar is his favorite rapper, and he lists The Alchemist, Pharrell, and Kanye West among his favorite producers. Today, he describes his music as “raw and vulnerable raps about the struggle.” You can expect to hear a few of his iconic “yeah” ad-libs right before he kills a verse.

Jiles released his first project, F**k Jiles in 2019. Standout tracks from the project include “Kids,” “Brag,” and “O.M.M.” The next year, Jiles released It’s Not Much, but It’s Mine - EP followed by a deluxe version a few months later. Highlights from this project include “Alibi,” “Rutland” featuring BoriRock, SAINT LYOR (ET), Meech, Lord Felix (FELIX!), and Luke Bar$, and “Free Lunch.” Following the release of this project, Jiles switched gears to focus on three Van Buren projects: Bad for Press, BLACK WALL STREET - EP with AzizTheShake, and DSM. Notable verses from Jiles on these projects include “BRAINDEAD,” “Medic,” “RELAX,” “JUMPSTREET,” “FINGERPRINTS,” “War Mode,” “The Source,” and “GO.” “GO,” a more melodic vibe, has even drawn rumors of a Love Jiles project, further exploring his R&B bag. Outside of VB projects, Jiles has also provided a few fire features including Michael Christmas’ “Game 6” and AzizTheShake’s “Toledo” along with Meech.

In September 2023, Jiles released what he considers his debut album, Mookie Blaylock along with producer Vinyl Villain. Jiles says the project was inspired by other projects like Action Bronson’s Blue Chips, RetcH’s Polo Sporting Goods, and Ghostface Killah’s Ironman. Led by standout singles “Kobe Fro” and “10pc,” the project also sees high points on tracks like “Projectz,” “Sauce Gardner,” and “Free Steve,” the last of which explores a different sound from the rest of the album, as it was initially intended to be the direction of the project before Jiles decided to make it a collab with Vinyl Villain.

Jiles has opened for legendary acts like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. He continues to perfect his craft and plans to continue to release more music and visuals very soon.
